Shutterbugs focus on photographic skills

GEORGE TOWN: NIKON Club Malaysia recently held a two-day seminar at a leading hotel here for more than 100 club members from the northern region to help them seek new ideas and hone their skills in photography.

The club has over 25,000 members nationwide.

Club members were given tips by experienced and expert lensmen, interacted with one another and participated in photo shoots.

Themed Utara Photo Weekend, the event included a photo competition with valuable prizes for winners.

Guest speakers Mohd Rizal Ismail (who gave a talk on macro photography & DIY), Ali alias Nublee Shamsul (nature photography), Jonathan Tai (portrait photography) and Eiffel Chong (contemporary photography) gave participants an insight into the respective fields.

Nikon Sdn Bhd marketing manager (consumer products marketing) Yeo Su Kuan said Nikon products were not only about state-of-the-art photographic equipment.

“Part of our Nikon mission also involves the development of the art and science of photography.

“Nikon Club is an avenue for shutterbugs and Nikon users to get together to hone their skills.

“Besides, gaining a deeper insight into the field of photography, participants also acquired hands-on practical exposure through photo shoots, contests as well as a chance to interact with fellow members and speakers,” she said.

A visit to the Penang Camera Museum was also arranged to view the exhibits by the Nikon Photo Contests winners.
