Cabinet endorsement needed for VEP

KUALA LUMPUR: The Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) charges will only implemented after the cabinet has endorsed it.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the details of its implementation were still being finalised.

Liow said before implementing the VEP, its planning and system must be in place first.

He said that discussions will also have to be carried out with the Singapore government, as well as relevant government ministries and agencies.

"Once everything is in place, I can bring this up to cabinet for endorsement."

He said once cabinet endorses it, he would inform the public on the details.
