Property website to woo China, HK investors

KUALA LUMPUR: OSID Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a newcomer in the property industry, is developing a website to promote Malaysia’s real estate in China and Hong Kong and contribute to the country’s MySecond Home programme.

The company is confident it will attract over 200 subscribers after the launch next month.

Its chief marketing officer Max Chong said the initiative was based on its partners’ keen interest to invest in properties here and venture into businesses such as franchising.

“Based on the statistics we received, many investors in China want to venture abroad.

“The website will act as a one-stop consultancy service on property and businesses to assist them in their decision-makings,” he said.

“We have more than 50 property listings on our website and are aiming to gain another 50 listings before the launch. We have also been in contact with seven to eight banks on specialised foreign mortgage consultants to ensure a comfortable transaction,” Chong added.

“We are also in talks with state agencies to develop some housing projects in Sungkai and Manjung, Perak,” he said.

OSID Malaysia’s unit, OSID Venture Sdn Bhd, aims to tie up with Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak to develop a lifestyle project in Sungkai, targeting mainly foreign buyers.

The project, which has an estimated gross development value of RM500 million, will comprise bungalows and developed over 32.3ha.

“The company is in the midst of acquiring another 12ha for further development,” Chong said.
