KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened slightly lower against the US dollar today on lack of demand for the local currency amid stronger greenback.
At 9.19am, the domestic currency was quoted at 3.3415/3445 against the greenback from 3.3440/3470 on Tuesday.
Against other major currencies, the ringgit was traded mostly lower.
It fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.5851/5894 from yesterday's 2.5816/5854, depreciated against the British pound to 5.3163/3221 from 5.2979/2040 and weakened against the euro to 4.1628/1672 from 4.1502/1543.
The ringgit, however, rose against the yen to 2.8873/8902 from 2.8875/8906 previously.-- Bernama
