KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak tonight attended a charity gala dinner held in conjunction with the Formula E Championship (ePrix) that will take place in Putrajaya tomorrow.
Najib was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor to the prestigious black tie event.
The highlight of the charity dinner was live auctions offering Formula E’s unique memorabilia, including champion driver’s race suit, tyres and steering wheel.
The Formula E racing is a new FIA championship that puts the most advanced electric powered formula cars (EV) on the streets of 10 iconic cities around the world.
Putrajaya with its 2.56km street circuit is the ePrix’s second venue after Beijing on Sept 13.
Among the famous names in the list of drivers for tomorrow’s race are former Formula One drivers Jarno Trulli, Jaime Alguersuari, Sebastien Buemi, Lucas di Grassi, Bruno Senna and Nick Heidfeld. --BERNAMA
