Soldiers, cops begin night patrols

PUTRAJAYA: Soldiers and policemen have begun a massive operation to weed out illegal immigrants in Cameron Highlands to prevent land clearing there.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the team began operations on Saturday night following Prime Minister Datuk
Seri Najib Razak’s instructions
to carry out patrols to nab the culprits.

He said the patrols were not
only conducted to arrest illegals
but also agents who were responsible for bringing them into the country.

“We must also take action against employers who use illegal foreign labour knowingly as they have
broken the law,” he said after
the Film Censorship Board’s
60th anniversary celebrations here yesterday.

Present was Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
