E.A. Technique upbeat on prospects of oil and gas

KUALA LUMPUR: EA Technique (M) Bhd which aims to raise RM74.1 million from its initial public offering is upbeat on the prospects of its oil and gas- (O&G) related businesses despite global oil price concern, said managing director Datuk Abdul Hak Md Amin.

The Kulim (Malaysia) Bhd's associate company owns and operates marine vessels, provides offshore storage of (O&G) as well as port marine services.

It also carries out shipbuilding and ship repair activities to complement its core vessel operations through its unit Johor Shipyard & Engineering Sdn Bhd.

Abdul Hak said the company's diversified business model as well as its involvement in shipyard and port services keeps it 'well insulated' from the volatile O&G environment.

"We will not be directly impacted by the volatility of the global oil price as we're well diversified," he told reporters after launching the company's prospectus, here, yesterday.
