FTE Asia 2014to enhance travel experience

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 400 senior global travel industry stakeholders will converge, here, next week for the Future Travel Experience Asia (FTE Asia) 2014 to deliberate on ways and means to enhance the overall travel experience.

They will take part in the conference and exhibition, as well as networking and social programmes to share future visions and debate on how to improve the end-to-end customer journey.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) will host FTE Asia 2014, which will start from December 1 to 3.

Managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said the airport operator looks forward to bringing together the industry’s most innovative organisations to establish how they can collectively enhance the passenger experience in the future.

“It is very fitting that FTE Asia returns to Malaysia this year, just six months after the opening of klia2. We look forward to welcoming more than 400 senior industry figures to the event, which will showcase the best of Malaysian culture and hospitality,” he said in a statement.

FTE Asia 2014, which will take place at Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA, is the 15th FTE event globally and the fourth in Asia. It will include two conference streams, extensive exhibition and unique networking and social programme for stakeholders,

Themed “Transforming tomorrow’s customer journey in Asia”, the key topics across the two conference streams will be on the latest advancements in self-service, baggage handling, security and facilitation, mobile and wearable technology, immigration, in-flight entertainment and connectivity, cabin design, crew empowerment and the arrival experience.

Industry players that will be attending include MAHB, AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia X, Qatar Airways, Boeing, Air New Zealand, Saudia, Dubai Airports, Istanbul Grand Airports, Air France-KLM, Jetstar, Embraer, Vancouver Airport Authority, LIFT Strategic Design and SITA Lab.

FTE Asia 2014 will also offer guided tours of the new klia2 for delegates to experience the terminal first-hand and gain an unrivalled insight into how self-service facilities are helping to provide the next-
generation passenger experience.

In addition, the FTE Asia 2014 exhibition will be a platform for the industry’s most innovative organisations to display their latest solutions and services that have been designed to simplify and improve the passenger experience both on the ground and in-flight.
