KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry will form a national Parents-Teachers Association foundation to help PTAs with an initial funding of RM200 million.
Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the rest of the fund will come from government-linked companies (GLCs) and it will be given to schools nationwide.
He said the decision was made during his meeting with Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak this morning.
He thanked Najib for a big budget allocation for education, amounting to RM56.6 billion, putting education as the nation's top agenda.
