THE Actors Studio Academy (TAS) at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre in Sentul Park, Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur has several holiday workshops for arts enthusiasts this month.
PUBERTY AND BODY IMAGE WORKSHOP
Specially for children aged 13 to 15, the three-hour workshops at 10am daily are interactive and designed to help youngsters understand and cope with the physical, emotional and social changes that occur during puberty.
The workshops will encourage participants to think critically and explore solutions through discussions.
Date: Dec 8-9 (girls) and Dec 10-11 (boys).
Course fee: RM200.
CREATIVE WRITING FOR CHILDREN: FILM WITH CHARMALEE SIVAPRAGASAM
The workshop encourages children to write movie scripts by pitching ideas.
It exposes them to storytelling, creating characters and structuring narratives.
Date: Dec 17 to 19, 2pm to 5pm daily. Course fee: RM250.
THE HIP HOP DANCE WORKSHOP (BEGINNERS LEVEL) WITH JES CHOW
For children aged 8 to 15, it encourages youngsters to express their creativity through modern dance.
Date: Dec 8 to 11, 2pm to 3.30pm daily. Course fee: RM280.
INTENSIVE CREATIVE ARTS PROGRAMME WITH KIMMY KIEW AND SESHADRI KALIMUTHU
For children aged 3 to 6, funfilled, exploratory theatrebased activities and games to help self-development.
Date: Dec 8 to 12, 10am to noon daily.
Course fee: RM250.
PUBLIC SPEAKING WORKSHOP WITH KHAYMA BALAKRISHNAN
For children aged 8 to 15, it encourages them to speak with confidence in public and teaches them speech-writing, expression and body language.
Date: Dec 15 to 19, 10am to noon daily.
Course fee: RM250.
SPEECH AND DRAMA HOLIDAY BOOTCAMP
It is for children aged 7 to 12, which will help them gain confidence and learn creative expression.
Date: Dec 8 to 12, 10am to noon daily.
Course fee: RM280.
