Protasco upbeat on double-digit growth

KAJANG: Protasco Bhd is confident of posting double-digit growth this year on the back of plans to boost revenue in high-growth areas such as construction and property development.

According to executive vice-chairman and group managing director Datuk Seri Chong Ket Pen, the group is aiming for a minimum 15 per cent of revenue and profit growth this year, driven by higher contributions from its construction and property development divisions.

He said Protasco plans to reduce contribution from its road maintenance division to 50 per cent from 60 per cent in the current financial year.

“We plan to boost our property development contribution to 20 per cent from 10 per cent and increase the contribution from construction to 15 per cent from 10 per cent.

“We aim to achieve this by strengthening our order book, which stands at RM700 million, comprising infrastructure-related jobs involving roads, buildings, bridges, drains and retaining structures,” Chong said after the company’s annual general meeting, here, yesterday.
