Firm to help City Hall with licensing

KUALA LUMPUR: CITY Hall recently appointed Oracle Synergy Sdn Bhd to develop the Integrated Licensing System to manage and oversee business licensing applications in the nation’s capital.

Oracle Synergy was also tasked to conduct surveys on business premises and receive and register business license applications into City Hall’s eLesen system.

City Hall was represented by Licensing and Petty Traders Management Department director Roslan Abdul Rahman while Oracle Synergy sent two representatives, Zairolhamisam Mohamed Rani and Ahmad Sufian Ahmad Mazlan to ink a memorandum of understanding.

Also present was Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Oracle Synergy received a four-year contract and will be earning 15 per cent commission for license renewals and 25 per cent commission for new applications.

Its staff will be wearing official uniforms with identifications and consent letters from City Hall to enter and conduct surveys on business premises, both licensed and illegal.

Participating business operators will have a sticker placed on their premises.

“I believe we will be able to register 90 per cent of the illegal businesses in Kuala Lumpur with this exercise,” said Tengku Adnan.

City Hall estimated that it would collect between RM35 million and RM80 million from business licences by 2018.
