Cosmetics business owner charged with RM2.9m CBT

PETALING JAYA: A cosmetics company founder was charged two months back with committing criminal breach of trust with over RM2.9 million of the company's revenue.

Today Datuk Seri Udani Mohd Noor pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court on Oct 9 to misusing RM2,931,040 sales proceeds of Seri Udani Beauty Sdn Bhd, which she established on Nov 8, 2010.

Seri Udani, 33, whose case came up for mention before the same court today, allegedly banked the money into her bank account instead of the company's account.

She is accused of committing the offence, in her capacity as director, at the company's premises at The Strand, Kota Damansara here, between June 12 last year and April 7 this year.

Lawyer Datuk Ab Gani Che Man, 63, lodged a police report against her on Jan 9, 2011, when he was still married to Seri Udani. The couple divorced this year.

Seri Udani may be jailed up to 20 years, whipped, and fined if convicted under Section 409 of the Penal Code. She is currently out on RM30,000 bail.

Judge Abu Bakar Manat fixed Jan 16 for further mention of the case.

Deputy public prosecutor Nur Aishah Ahmad Zakiuddin prosecuted.

Counsel Alfred Egin represented Seri Udani while Iszam Kamal Ismail conducted watching brief for complainant Ab Gani.
