Najib proposes latest circumcision method to be introduced in rural areas

PEKAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today proposed the latest circumcision method using the Sunatech technology to be introduced in rural areas and marketed overseas.

Najib, who is also the Pekan member of Parliament, said the latest method was much easier, caused minimum pain and ensured a fast recovery.

“Due to its high demand, I hope this Sunatech technique will be exported overseas as not only Muslims encourage circumcision but other races are also practising it for a healthy lifestyle.

“I want to also offer Sunatech to be used in rural areas.. I will discuss with the representatives from the company so the method can used in villages, where it is difficult for doctors to visit,” he said in his speech after attending the Pekan parliament constituency-level mass circumcision ceremony at the Pekan Convention hall today.

The Sunatech technology, a product from Sunatech Sdn Bhd was introduced for the first time in Pekan yesterday.

Najib later visited flood evacuees at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Gudang Rasau relief centre here.

He arrived around noon and spent some 30 minutes with the victims who were resting in separate classrooms.

A total of 145 victims from 39 families were seeking shelter at the centre.
