eCurve brings Xmas joy to old folk

PETALING JAYA: Christmas is the season to be jolly, but not for residents of the Joy Haven Home for The Elderly in Petaling Jaya.

For most of them, it’s just another day.

However, eCurve has brought some Christmas cheer to 20 elderly folk from the home.

The elderly who were the guests-of-honour were treated to a special mini Christmas celebration at eCurve’s Centre Atrium.

They were entertained by live dance musical Roxy and the Hot Stuff with specially choreographed performances.

eCurve Centre manager Azizul Hisham Ahmad said they wanted to bring a little fun and merriment into their lives.

“Our elderly citizens should not be forgotten, especially during this festive season.

“With our rock ’n’ roll theme, we hope they will be able to enjoy themselves.”

Than Yuen Foo, 85, from Bukit Cina, Malacca, said he was glad there were others who still cared about him and his friends.

“I have been staying at the home since I had trouble with my knees and there is no one to take care of me,” said the bachelor, adding that he had no immediate family members.

On his wish for Christmas, he said: “I have no expectation, I don’t want to wish for anything this Christmas.”

Khoo Hood Cheng said she is hoping to get healthier in years to come.

“Recently, I have been facing problems with my knees and spine.”

In line with the Christmas celebration, the old folk from the home also received gifts courtesy of eCurve, before they adjourned to a delicious dinner at Manhattan Fish Market.

Shoppers also have the opportunity to get gifts.

Any shopper who spends a minimum of RM150 in two receipts or less will be entitled to a cuddly Christmas teddy bear.
