BALIK PULAU: Two contractor representatives were fined RM85,000 at the sessions court here today for causing the death of one person and injuring four others in the collapse of the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge connecting ramp in June last year.
Contractors Cergas Murni Sdn Bhd and Giga Engineering and Construction Sdn Bhd pleaded guilty and were fined RM50,000 and RM35,000 respectively.
Judge Saitarun Nisa Abdul Aziz handed down the sentence.
Deputy public prosecutors Nurakmar Mohd Sani and Nik Azrin Zairin Nik Abdullah from the Human Resources Ministry prosecuted.
