Energizer sponsors toys for charity

PETALING JAYA: Battery manufacturer Energizer sponsored toys for children with Down Syndrome from Kiwanis Malaysia, at the 1Utama Shopping Mall, here, recently.

A total of 30 media personnel were also roped in to bring Christmas joy to the children under Energizer’s Power of Giving campaign.

Reporters were told to pick a child’s name and given a RM200 voucher to purchase battery-powered gifts from Hamleys toy store.

The gifts were later presented to the children on stage.

Present at the event were Energizer Malaysia and Singapore commercial director Harris Hwang and Kiwanis Malaysia district governor Tan Eng Too.

Hwang said: “Energizer is about generating positive energy to the world.

“When the public help underprivileged children, they bring smiles to these kids.

“We hope the toys would help expand their minds through play,” he said.

Also present at the event were violinist Dennis Lau, actress-singer Chelsia Ng and radio announcer Minyee.

Energizer is giving more than RM20,000 worth of toys to improve children’s confidence and social skills, as well as their motor skills.

To raise awareness of its Power of Giving campaign, Energizer has embarked on roadshows at 250 locations nationwide. The one in 1Utama ends on Christmas Day. By Ricky Yap
