IPOH: The number of flood victims continues to rise with 6,000 people from 1,500 families evacuated from their homes.
State National Security Council assistant secretary Norhafizah Zainuddin said as at 8am today, a total of 48 flood relief centres had been opened.
The districts affected however remained at three - Hulu Perak, Perak Tengah and Kuala Kangsar.
"Perak Tengah had the highest number of victims with 2,804 people from 718 families moved to 16 relief centers while Kuala Kangsar recorded 2,579 victims from 628 families placed at 23 centres," she said.
A total of 614 people from 154 families are affected at Hulu Perak, she added.
"They are placed at 10 flood relief centres," she noted.
