MH370 Tragedy: I remain committed to the search, says Hisham

TAWAU: Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein assured he will remain committed to the search for missing flight MH370.

Hishammuddin who was replaced as Acting Transport Minister by Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said a transition process will take place soon and that the two of them will be meeting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to discuss this.

Meanwhile, Hishammuddin added the Malaysian defence authorities had exchanged notes with the US military on their experience in handling regional issues related to militant threats.

He said this was discussed during a meeting between him and US Marines Corp Forces Pacific Commanding General Lt General Terry Robling who is here for an official visit.

"This is important because such threats will not only affect Sabah or Malaysia but also our neighbouring countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia and Brunei.

"So we need as much information and cooperation so that action plans such as Esscom (Eastern Sabah Security Command) for instance could be more effective in terms of asset deployment, training and intelligence gathering," he said.
