TEMERLOH: Scores of motorists were trapped after a trunk road which was earlier used as an alternative route at Kampung Paya Pulai here was inundated by flood waters.
Many vehicles left stranded at Km126 of the East Coast Expressway (ECE) after it was under three metres of water about 4pm.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Anuar Othman said the single-carriageway has been closed to all vehicles since late evening.
East Coast Expressway (ECE) concessionaire Anih Berhad, in a statement, advised motorist travelling to the east coast and Kuala Lumpur to postpone the trips.
Motorist can make a U-turn at Karak (for those travelling from Kuala Lumpur) and Sri Jaya (for those travelling from Kuantan).
Motorist are advised to refer to ECE's traffic update on Twitter handle under @lpttrafik before making their journey.
