SUNGAI PETANI: Gurun explosion victim Sharifah Azlina Hashim, 30, who was fighting for her life at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital intensive care unit since Wednesday, succumbed to her injuries this morning.
She was seven-month pregnant with her third child and it is understood that the foetus also did not survive.
Her husband Corporal Ayob Hashim, 37, and their 8-year-old daughter Nor Hidayu Shahirah Ayob were killed on the spot when a high-explosive anti-tank weapon exploded at their home when Ayob was grinding the bomb.
The incident also claimed the life of their 5-year-old neighbour Mohd Aqif Lokman Mohd Shahrizal.
The couple's 5-year-old son however, escaped with minor injury.
