KANGAR: Universiti Teknologi Mara Perlis organised an appreciation night for 20 journalists at Seri Malaysia Hotel, here, recently.
Besides being treated to sumptuous dishes, guests were also entertained with performances by the university staff and students.
Rector Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Redzuan Abd Rahman said the event was held to show appreciation to the media for their coverage which helped boost the reputation of the campus.
“In the beginning, many parents were reluctant to send their children to the campus.
“However, we are more well- known now thanks to the media highlighting our activities and parents have become more confident to send their children to study here,” he said.
Ahmad later presented a certificate of appreciation to the representatives of the various publications. He also presented gifts to 10 lucky draw winners. By Ili Shazwani
