TalentCorp targets 1,000 experts for 2014

GEORGE TOWN: Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp) is targetting to woo more than 1,000 Malay-sian professionals working overseas to return this year via its Returning Expert Programme (REP).

This compares with the 900 experts who returned to Malaysia last year.

TalentCorp chief executive officer Johan Mahmood Merican said yesterday the professionals being sought will continue to be those in the oil and gas, finance, business services, electrical and electronics and healthcare sectors.

“In April, we revised our REP because we believe in having the right incentives for the right talent. For example, we reduced the car incentive from two cars to one car. We have also tightened our criteria.

“We recognise that incentives really should go to quality talents who can really contribute. We are not just looking at quantity but also quality,” he said at the inaugural Northern Region Women’s Summit 2014, here.

The REP facilitates the return of experienced Malaysian talents, notably those with expertise related to the National Key Economic Areas in the Economic Transformation Programme.

The summit was organised by Agilent Technologies, AMD, Dell and Intel in collaboration with TalentCorp.
