Headache pangs for MIC leader after 24-hour hunger strike

PUTRAJAYA: Twenty-four hours after he began his hunger strike, MIC leader Datuk G. Kumaar Aaman's blood pressure increases, and now suffers from a "slight headache".

Kumaar, who was lying on the marble-tiled floor was examined by a doctor today, outside the Registrar of Societies' (RoS) headquarters where he staged his hunger strike.

It was Kumaar's supporters who engaged the services of the doctor, as they were worried for his health.

"It could be very dangerous for his health if he continues (this strike).

"He could suffer from severe dehydration and go into shock," said Dr T. Pereveena, a general practitioner from a private clinic, here.

Kumaar had yesterday pledged to go on a hunger strike until the Home Ministry appointed a new RoS director-general and officers investigating the party's internal fiasco.
