WCT aims to secure RM2bil jobs this year

PETALING JAYA: WCT Holdings Bhd aims to secure RM2 billion worth of local and foreign property development jobs this year, said executive director, Wong Yik Kae.

He said of the total, the domestic market would contribute RM1 billion and West Asia RM1 billion.

“Currently, the group is focusing on the 202.34-hectare township in Rawang. It is expected to kick-start next year,” he said after a briefing on its new hotel here today.

Wong said the group still has a landbank of about 404.68 ha in the country.

The company has appointed New World Hotels & Resorts to manage its new PJ hotel.

WCT managing director Taing Kim Hwa and Symon Bridle, chief operating officer of Rosewood Hotel Group, a parent company of New World Hotel & Resorts, signed the agreement.

Taing said the hotel was part of the company’s RM1.8 billion Paradigm integrated commercial development which was expected to open in the third quarter of 2016.

“The property, which occupies the top 12 floors of the dual-use 30-storey tower, will consist of The Azure serviced residences, comprising 316 guestrooms and suites.

“We partner with New World Hotels & Resorts as they have positive track record in business besides its commitment towards oriental hospitality and traditions,” he said.

The Paradigm integrated commercial development components include shopping mall, corporate offices, serviced residence and hotel. – Bernama
