Datuk Seri Ahmad Said named the first TKDC chairman

KUALA TERENGGANU: Datuk Seri Ahmad Said was named the Tasik Kenyir Development Council (TKDC) chairman following his major role in developing the lake.

Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said Ahmad was announced as 'Bapa Pelancongan Negeri ' due to his involvement in the state tourism sector during the State Assembly sitting on December last year.

"We are proud to announce Datuk Seri Ahmad as the first chairman of TKDC," he said during the Kuala Nerus community programme at his residence, Seri Iman, here yesterday.

Ahmad Razif who is also the Kuala Nerus Umno division chief said TKDC was set up to evaluate and monitor programmes in transforming the lake into a world class tourist attraction in the state.

Present at the event were Kuala Nerus Umno division deputy chief Datuk Basir Ismail and other community leaders.
