GELANG PATAH: A video recording of strong winds ripping off the roofs of several shop houses in Lima Kedai here on Wednesday at about 4.25pm went viral on a social networking site.
It is believed to be the worst to hit a commercial and residential area in Johor in the past few years.
Kamrandin Din Muhmad, 59, a resident of the Lima Kedai community housing scheme and a shop operator here, said a neighbour caught the video footage as he was playing a video game on his mobile phone at the time.
"The wind tore off the ceiling of a food stall, and the roofs of several shop houses were damaged. Luckily, no one was hurt in the 10-minute incident," he said.
