Selangor PPR review hearing on March 3

SHAH ALAM: A public hearing to review the Selangor's People's Housing Programme (PPR) will be held on Tuesday, March 3.

Selangor state assembly's Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) chairman Hannah Yeoh said the committee had decided to investigate the maintenance and monitoring of the programme because Perumahan dan Hartanah Selangor Sdn Bhd, under the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), was assigned to maintain some of the PPR flats in the state.

"The flats were built as part of Seventh Malaysia Plan under the Housing and Local Government Ministry.

"The committee will look into the efficiency of the management and expense spent on the flats' maintenance, which is borne by the state government through taxpayers' money.

"All parties involved in this matter will be summoned to give their statements to Selcat," she said in a statement today.

Members of the public can follow the hearing proceedings through Selangorku's website http://www.selangorku.com orhttp://tv.selangorku.com from 10am to 5pm.
