STPM: Slight increase for full pass results in Selangor

SHAH ALAM: Selangor recorded a drop in the number of students who achieve full passes in last year's STPM examination.

A total of 4,409 candidates scored full passes in 2014, compared to 5,291 candidates in 2013.

The number of candidates scoring 5Ps also dropped to 47 candidates (1.03%) compared to 99 candidates (1.81%) in 2013.

However, the drop in the number of candidates did not affect the percentage of candidates scoring full passes which slightly increased from 96.53 per cent in 2013 to 97.05 per cent last year.

State Education Department director Zainuren Mohd Nor in a statement said, out of the 72 schools that registered to have STPM candidates, 30 achieved 100 per cent full passes compared to 27 schools last year.

Selangor named Lim Wei Keith as state’s best student as he is the only student that scored 5As with a CGPA of 4.0 out of 4,922 STPM candidates in Selangor.
