JOHOR BARU: A total of 4,741 companies in Johor have yet to register for Goods and Services Tax (GST) after the Feb 28 dateline and will be issued compound by Customs starting March 1.
Johor Customs director Datuk Ramli Johari said Customs have initiated the GST operation checks on business operations which have failed to register before the Feb 28 dateline.
"Initially the dateline for the GST registration is until Dec 31 but the exercise has been extended until end of February," he said at a press conference at the Customs headquarter here today.
The Customs GST operation nationwide check will begin from March 1 until March 15.
