CHINA’S five-time world champion Lin Dan clinched his first Super Series title of the year following his victory in the Australian Open yesterday.
The 30-year-old, however, had to come from a game down to defeat Indonesia’s Simon Santoso 22-24, 21-16, 21-17 in one hour and 15 minutes.
Lin Dan, who pocketed US$56,250 (RM173,000), won the China
Masters GP Gold and Badminton Asia Championships earlier this year.
India’s Saina Nehwal won the Australian Open women’s singles tile after beating Spain’s Carolina Marin 21-18, 21-11.
