TV9 executive murderer to enter defence

KHAIRAH N. KARIM

SHAH ALAM: The Husband of TV9 executive Nur Syaleza Jaffar alleged with murdering the victim three years ago was ordered by the High Court to enter his defence tomorrow.

Judge Abdul Halim Aman made the decision ruling that the prosecution had succeeded in proving a prima facie case against the accused based on circumstantial evidence.

""Even though circumstantial evidence is weaker than direct evidence, the case can still be proven based on it as it could prove the motive," he said.

The accused will give a sworn statement from the witness dock.

Norazman Bashah Ahmad Azam Bashah, 34, who was a former oil and gas company executive, was alleged to have strangled his wife to death.

He was accused to have committed the offence at their residence at Apartment Saujana, Jalan PJU 10/1C, Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya, between noon and 7.30pm on July 28, 2012.

A total of 24 prosecution witnesses were called to testify for the case.

Deputy public prosecutors Rosidah Abu Bakar and T. Deepa Nair prosecuted while the accused was represented by counsel Muhammad Fadhlu Sutris and Shah Rizal Abdul Manan.
