KUALA TERENGGANU: A 14-year-old boy drowned while bathing at Kampung Telaga Daing 2 beach at Seberang Takir, yesterday evening.
In the 6pm incident, the body of Muhammad Syamir Safri was found several minutes later by the villager.
It is learnt that the victim went to the beach for a swim with four friends.
According to a source, the victim from the same village suddenly went missing before one of his friend alerted villagers.
The source said villagers rushed to help the victim before his body was found later.
Meanwhile District police chief Assistant Commissioner Idris Abdul Rafar who confirmed the incident today said the victim's body was sent to the hospital for post mortem.
