KUCHING: A body of a woman, believed to have been murdered, was found inside a room of a hotel in Jalan Green Hill here today.
The body of the 42-year-old victim was found naked, with her hands and legs tied, on the bed in the room by one of the workers of the hotel, who in turn alerted the police at 11.30am.
Kuching district police chief Assistant Commissioner Roslan Bek Ahmad said the body was covered with a blanket. The victim worked as a shop assistant.
"There were also signs of strangling on her neck, which led us to believe that the victim may have been murdered.
"Preliminary investigation showed the victim had arrived at the hotel on Wednesday prior to the discovery of her body.
"However, we found no weapon during our checks in her room," Roslan said.
The body was sent to the Sarawak General Hospital and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
