KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar as investors' interest were inclined towards the the local unit.
At 9.04am, the local unit was quoted at 3.2090/2120 against the greenback from 3.2115/2145 at 5pm on Friday.
The local unit traded mixed against other major currencies.
It firmed against the Singapore dollar to 2.5688/5715 from last week's 2.5711/5737, against the British pound, the local unit appreciated to 5.4640/4704 from 5.4673/4733.
However, the ringgit fell marginally against the yen to 3.1663/1705 from 3.1662/1698 on Friday and weakened against the euro to 4.3780/3828 from 4.3747/3794 last week.-- Bernama
