IRM launches donation drive mobile apps

PUTRAJAYA: Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) today launched a mobile phone application which enabled the public to keep abreast with its latest donation drive or relief efforts.

Its Director Zairulshahfuddin Zainal Abidin said the application, named after the non-governmental organisation, could be downloaded on the Android and iOS mobile operating systems where users needed only to search for Islamic Relief Malaysia on their respective application stores.

Through the application, users could also view IRM's photography gallery to see ongoing efforts by the International Islamic Relief chapters in 40 countries.

"This provides the opportunity for IRM to channel the latest information on any of its activities to the public, especially on relief efforts at home and abroad,"

"The application also enabled users to make direct donations easier and faster, and at a time of their convenience," he said during IRM's media appreciation night at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, here, this evening.

Also present were Islamic Development Department (Jakim) Assistant-Director (Propagation) Mat Radzi Mat Ali, and IRM Board of Trustees Chairman Dr Azni Idris.
