Hollywood beckons Debbie Goh

AWARD-WINNING local actress Debbie Goh joins the cast of Lost In The Pacific which includes Superman Returns star Brandon Routh and White Deer Plain star Zhang Yuqi.

The 3D sci-fi action adventure is directed by Vincent Zhou (Last Flight), and marks Goh’s foray into Hollywood. A three-time winner of the Golden Awards’ Most Popular Actress (2010, 2012 and 2014), she is best known for her roles in local TV dramas like Age Of Glory (2008), The Descendant (2010) and Glowing Embers (2012) as well as China’s The Legend Of Kublai Khan (2013).

Goh also earned rave reviews for her performance in the local film, Bullets Over Petaling Street.

Lost In The Pacific has begun filming at Pinewood Malaysia Studios and is scheduled for release by year end. Goh is currently travelling back and forth between Kuala Lumpur and Johor to film the thriller.

It tells of a group of elite passengers on board an inaugural high-end transoceanic flight that turns into a disaster. The script was co-written by Zhou and Peter Cameron.

Other cast include Hollywood actor Russell Wong (The Mummy and Romeo Must Die), Hong Kong actress Bernice Liu, Tim Parrish, Tazito Garcia and Kaiwi Lyman.

Lost In The Pacific also boasts visual effects supervisor Bruce Jones (The Italian Job and Star Trek), art director Ian Bailie (Atonement, Pride And Prejudice) and Scott Winig as director of photography.

The visual effects team will work with Stareast Digital Lab and Hollywood VFX outfit, Venture 3D, which has worked on Titanic 3D and The Chronicles Of Narnia, among others.
