Ringgit ends higher against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: – The ringgit ended higher against the US dollar today on improved risk appetite, a dealer said.

At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.6100/6130 against the greenback compared with 3.6355/6385 yesterday.

The dealer said the lacklustre performance of the euro amid the risk of Greece leaving the single currency in the near term, also contributed to the improved rate of the local unit.

The ringgit was quoted mixed against other major currencies.

It strengthened against the Singapore dollar to 2.6818/6848 from Tuesday’s 2.6902/6942 and appreciated against the yen to 3.0217/0252 from 3.0392/0430 previously.

The local unit fell against the British pound to 5.4114/4173 from 5.4089/4148 yesterday and declined against the euro to 3.8898/8941 from 3.8831/8870 previously. -- BERNAMA
