BUTTERWORTH: Kajang assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is PKR's candidate for the Permatang Pauh by-election.
The 62-year-old, wife to incumbent Permatang Pauh MP, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is also PKR president.
Dr Azizah held the seat for three terms in the 1999, 2004 and 2008 general elections, while Anwar was serving his prison term for sodomy and corruption offences.
Azizah then resigned from her MP post in Jul 2008 to make way for Anwar's return to politics.
Anwar's return as MP lasted for two terms until he was found guilty of sodomising his aide Saiful Bukhari Azlan last month.
