KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today launched a book to commemorate the enthronement of the 35th Sultan of Perak, Sultan Dr Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
The book, entitled 'His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Shah; Reflections and Recollections', was a collection of work by local and international writers whom have had the privilege of dealing and communicating with Sultan Nazrin, which included personal contacts, academicians, journalists and social activists.
"This book is published to revive the tradition and relationship that the Malay sultanate had with the world of literature," Sultan Sharafuddin said in his royal address during the book launch here, today.
He said the 265-page book, which was consented by Sultan Nazrin, mirrored the scholarly image that he possessed.
Also present at the launch were Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, Sultan Nazrin’s mother Tuanku Bainun, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, NSTP chairman Tan Sri Mohamed Jawhar Hassan and NSTP group managing editor Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid.
Sultan Nazrin will be crowned as the 35th Sultan of Perak on May 6.
