KOTA KINABALU: Five individuals including Bersih Sabah chairman Jannie Lasimbang had given statements to the police this morning with regard to the organisation of Himpunan May Day last Friday.
The others activists were Wilfred Gaban, Anne Lasimbang, Andrew Ambrose Mudi and S.M. Muthu.
"The police wanted to record what transpired during the event particularly the content of the speeches made as part of their investigation.
"No charges were made on any of those called to give their statements as the organisers of the Himpunan May Day did not breach the police barricade and Kota Kinabalu district police chief had allowed a one-hour period for speeches to be made.
"Bersih Sabah considered the recording of the statement as part of police procedure and which the investigating officers conducted in a professional manner," said Bersih Sabah in a statement.
