Gold futures opens lower

KUALA LUMPUR: Gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives was lower on lack of buying support for the precious metal.

Spot month May 2015 eased six ticks to RM137.75 a gramme and June 2015 fell four ticks to RM138.20 per gramme.

Volume stood at 12 lots and open interest amounted to 2,153 contracts. At 9.30 am, physical gold was quoted at RM133.12 a gramme, down 31 sen, from RM133.12 a gramme on Thursday.

The market was closed on Friday and Monday for two local public holidays. – Bernama
