GEORGE TOWN: Some 60 traffic offenders were arrested in Penang in the first day of Op Warta which started yesterday.
State police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said of the number several of them were let out on bail and brought to the courts to be charged.
He said in a statewide roadblock, 58 people were detained.
Nationwide, 106 individuals were arrested in the operations that begun yesterday.
Op Warta is an ongoing operation, to ensure that any outstanding warrants were settled before the year ends.
