Markio, Ocha wanted for causing damage during anti-GST rally on May 1

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for two men believed to be a part of an anarchist group who allegedly caused damage to property during an anti-GST rally here on May 1.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Zainol Samah said both suspects were believed to be the masterminds of a small group which had committed vandalism along the area of the parade.

"Police managed to track down a 30-year old factory worker from a medical certificate inside a bag he left at the bank," he said.

Zainol added that police arrested the suspect in Shah Alam the day after the incident and seized assortment of posters and flags with the anarchy sign, the group's ideology book, a smoke bomb, masks, a catapult and some fireworks.

The suspect also told police that he had obtained the smoke bomb from the two other men still at large known as Mohd Afiq Ayob or his nickname Markio, and another man only known as Ocha.

"On the day of the incident, the group who were clad in black suits and masks while carrying a flag with the letter "A" had thrown a rock at the window of a bank in Jalan Tun Perak causing it to break into pieces and then they injured the security guard," Zainol said.

Police are investigating the case under Section 148 and Section 4 for using corrosive or explosive substances or offensive weapon, he added.

“Anyone who has information on the two men should contact the police immediately,” he added.
