NUSAJAYA: The inaugural Medini Live! art, music, film and community event from June 6-7, here will add character to this new area that is being developed as Nusajaya's central business district.
Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director and chief executive officer Khairil Anwar Ahmad said the buzz created from the event would give the working and residential population in Medini a richer quality of life, while attracting non-Johor residents to see what Medini has to offer.
"Medini Iskandar Malaysia's business involves developing property and infrastructure, but these can only be successful if they are complemented with efforts that can build character of a place. We are all for creating a buzz that will get Johoreans excited," said Khairil when launching the Countdown to Medini Live! at the event's venue at the White Box, Mall of Medini, here recently.
Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) chief executive Datuk Ismail Ibrahim launched the countdown.
Among those slated to perform at Medini Live! are Joe Flizzow, Najwa Mahiaddin, SonaOne, JU/NY and Havana Social Club.
There will also be exhibits by visual artists such as Johor-born Ahmad Zakii Anwar, Lisa Foo and Suzy Sulaiman, among many others.
A Directing and Acting workshop will be conducted by director U-Wei Saari and actress Datin Sofea Jane, while the Ketoprak Tobong theatre troupe from Jogjakarta, Indonesia is also scheduled to perform.
