Parliament passes motion to debate death camps in Perlis

KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Rakyat had approved a motion to debate on the mass graves and death camps used by human trafficking syndicates found in Perlis.

In allowing the motion moved by Gooi Hsiou Leung (PKR-Alor Setar), Deputy Speaker Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said said it satisfied the requisites under the Parliamentary Standing Orders 18(1) which are specific issues of public interest and urgency, and set an hour debate from 4.30pm.

Gooi said Home Ministry has a duty to explain how the prison camps were operating without its knowledge.

"This is an urgent matter as it concerned the lives of hundreds that were lost and the security aspect of Malaysian border."
