KUALA LUMPUR: The modified module for the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) will be presented to the Cabinet soon, Dewan Rakyat told.
Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri said the revamped module, which is part of PLKN's transformation programme, would include training in technical and vocational skills.
"The modules will be implemented in two phases, the first being the current modules which focuses on physical training, character building, spiritual, leadership and community services; while the phase will be made optional to participants who do not get opportunity to further studies in the higher learning institutes.
"The second phase will be carried out with the cooperation of local training institutes and upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and hopefully will be better prepared for the job world," he said in responding to a question by Datuk Zainudin Ismail (BN-Jelebu).
