Over 1,000 Ramadan Bazaar lots up for grabs in JB

JOHOR BARU: The Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) is offering a total of 1,026 lots for Ramadan Bazaar traders, here this year.

MBJB chief whip Datuk Yahya Jaafar said the lots would be operational in a total of 35 areas designated for the food bazaars during the upcoming fast month.

The 35 areas include 10 new spots that have been set aside by the local council for the trade.

Yahya said the 10 new areas include locations such as Bandar Baru Uda, Permas, the Pandan Rest and Recreation (R&R) area at the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL), Bayu Puteri and Stulang.

"The MBJB is also making several changes this year for the operations of Ramadan bazaars, including separate areas for selling beverages, dry food and cooked dishes," he said.

Yahya also warned traders against taking up Ramadan bazaar lots offered by third parties, who may charge exorbitant rental rates.
