30 players called for Harimau Malaya centralised training: Dollah

KUALA LUMPUR: Harimau Malaya head coach Dollah Salleh has named 30 players for centralised training at the PKNS field in Kelana Jaya, starting tomorrow.

Of the 30 players called up by Dollah, 14 are from Pahang and Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said the centralised training was to prepare Malaysia for the international A match against Hong Kong at Shah Alam Stadium on June 6.

It is also as a warm-up match for the national squad before they play two group A matches of the 2018 World Cup Qualifying Round, which is also the 2019 Asian Cup Qualifying Round.

Malaysia are scheduled to play against Timor Leste on June 11 before facing Palestine on June 16. Both matches will take place at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

FAM said of the 30 players called up, Dollah would only use 23 for the two qualifying round matches.

Dollah could not use the services of JDT and Pahang players in the friendly match against Tottenham Hotspur as the two teams were involved in the second round of the Asian Football Confederation Cup (AFC).

A Malaysia Selection lost 1-2 to Tottenham Hotspur in the friednly match played at Shah Alam Stadium last night.
