KUANTAN: The Pahang state legislative assembly sitting today approved the amendment on the Administrative and Legislative Assembly Member (Remuneration) 2015 Enactment, which will see an allowance increase for the Menteri Besar, executive council members and state assemblymen effective Jan 2015.
Through the amendment, the allowance for Menteri Besar had increased from 14,175.15 to RM30,000, executive council members from RM6,109.29 to RM14,000 and assemblymen from RM4,112.79 to RM11,000.
While the Speaker and deputy speaker will receive an increase from RM6,109.29 to RM14,000 and RM2,662.00 to RM9,000 respectively.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob when tabling the bill said the last adjustment for Pahang administrative and state assemblymen was made in 1994 and the review was reasonable and fair.
